For the Love of Life

Praying for the least of these.. and speaking up.

Dear Governor Baker,

My great niece was born this month, two weeks early, perfectly beautiful and quite tiny, at 5 pounds, 8 ounces.

Next month is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, commemorating the Roe v Wade Decision on January 22, 1973.  The Day the unborn lost their right to life.

At how many pounds do they become rightful citizens?

If a mother’s life is in danger, her doctors can try to save her.  The heart wrenching decisions made in these difficult times should be between the parents and doctors.

But most abortions are performed for a struggling, scared woman, lost and alone in some way.  The question, ‘what child is this?’ is not encouraged.

When will we wake up as a nation and see the injustice of this law?

When will we decide that a woman’s rights should not trump her responsibilities?  And when will we realize the golden ticket is mainly for the fathers of these dear children? Unless, in some cases, the decision is made against his will.   Then he has no say at all.

Governor Baker, I’m glad to hear you do not like the latest agenda which has slipped into the new budget, giving sixteen year olds the ‘right to choose’ without their parent’s involvement.  And the ‘right’ to abort a baby late term if there are ‘anomalies ‘.

You have your job and power to do what is best.  Please, please consider the rights of the unborn.

I have volunteered for years at pregnancy resource centers which support expectant mothers and families.

I love the cause of life and cherish my family, as I know you do.

I appreciate your thoughtful leadership.  I’m an Independent, by the way.

I wanted to bring to your attention a group called Obria,  https://www.obria.org/, who’s mission is to provide medical and physical care for pregnant women. They’re spreading throughout the country and even qualify for Title X funds.

I don’t believe Planned Parenthood deserves any of my tax dollars.  They can’t divorce their mission from their business which is wealthy through abortions.  Let’s leave that to the hospitals.   Please research this if you haven’t!

I am praying for you and for our great nation.  Thank you for listening. Let me know if I can serve you in any way.

Merry Christmas,

Peggy Buckley
